If you quit watching the NFL now, in10 years, you will get back 370 days or 1 entire year of your life back.
I will show you the math, but first understand that…
I was just like you: I watched Football every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday.
I had been a life-long football fan.
I can remember as a kid watching football with my dad and not being able to understand why those men had such big shoulder muscles.
And now, for that last 25 year, as an adult, and as a parent, I thought it was so precious when my little ones would fall asleep in my arms as we watched Sunday Night or Monday Night Football.
Little did I know that I being tricked into being a “Football Fan” and it was slowly robbing me of my life.
Today, I am not where I want to be. I am not where I want to be financially.
I have not achieved some of my life’s goals. I have not done many of the things that I want to do.
I wish I had invested that time into MYSELF or MY GOALS.
It is not too late to find the time…
It is not too late to stop watching sports on TV every Sunday…all day long.
By watching football – being an avid football fan – I lost approximately 2.5 FULL YEARS OF MY LIFE. What a g*d d*mned terrible decision.
It is not too late to do the math…
The NFL Season is 17 weeks plus 4 pre-season plus 4 or 5 post-season.
Let’s call it 25 weeks.
Most of you will watch the entire day on Sunday.
Watching NFL on Sundays is approximately 25 days per year or 250 days per decade!
You following along?
Wait, there’s more…
Remember, there is Monday Night Football and Thursday Night Football.
We should add another 1/2 day for 25 weeks or, rounding down, another 12 days per year or 120 days per decade!
Sobering….
250 days of Sundays per decade and 120 days of Mondays and Thursdays per decade means we are now at 370 days of watching football per decade.
Wait, there’s even more….
What if you watch some pre-game show and some post-game show?
Add more hours. Add more days. Add more years.
What about checking scores and stats and reading the stories of your favorite players and watching highlights?
Add more hours…days…years…
AND WHAT IF YOU ENJOY WATCHING COLLEGE FOOTBALL OR OTHER SPORTS?
How much can you accomplish in your life this week by not turning the TV on?
Start there.
Start this week.
Don’t turn on football this weekend and go from there.
Dust that old project off (that you now have time for it) and get to work.
I bet you can accomplish great things this week, this year, and in the next 10 years.
It is not too late to start getting your time back.
Sincerely, I wish you good luck!
