Hi, I’m Jason. I am 51 years old (2022). I have been an entrepreneur and business owner since I was 18. I’ve had some successes and a bunch of failures.
My Story
At 18, a friend and I started a lawn-moving business and did very well.
I went to college for 2 years. I was in a rock band. Got a promoter. Played 5 gigs in big venues. Promoter disappeared. I am not a rock star.
I went back to college to become a doctor. I dropped out of college. I am not a doctor.
At 26, I got introduced to the telecom industry and became an independent agent that sold long-distance telephone services. This is my first taste of residual income.
Selling long-distance services then turned into telecom auditing that then turned into cell phone recycling and my current business Cells for Cells.
Around 2003, I became an owner of a fast-food franchise. That was bad. That was pure hell. I had to sign an all-encompassing non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to leave that franchise. As part of the NDA, I can never mention details – and I will never mention the name, nor eat at that place. But, there are some substantial business lessons that I learned in those 3 years.
In 2007, I co-founded Cells for Cells. We recycle cell phones to raise money for families battling cancer. Our primary beneficiary is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In 2009, I was recognized as a Friend of the Earth. And in the same year, I was featured in my local News http://www.cellsforcells.com/who-is-cells-for-cells-and-why-did-i-start-cells-for-cells/
